So today I am starting a weight loss journey. I have done this so many times that I have lost count but this time it WILL be different. One thing that will be different is this blog. I am going to hold myself responsible by writing. Writing has always been an outlet for me. I may nor be the best writer or the funniest but I will write what I think and try not to hold anything back. I am going to put my weight, what I eat (even the mess ups), and how I feel.
So as of today, I am 35 years old and I weigh 265.4 pounds. I haven't even told my hubby that. So needless to say I will not be advertising this blog to friends and family. It's embarassing to admit how far I have let myself go. I am not going to post a pic of myself the way I look today (sloppy and no makeup) so I will put a pic from Easter of me and my sons. You can't tell in this pic (thank God) but I busted the zipper out of this skirt that day. Not sure when but hopefully after church. If not, everyone got a great view of my green undies.
Aren't those boys cute???
I am going to be doing the South Beach diet simply because I have the cookbook and I don't have to buy anything or pay a fee. I am CHEAP! I also downloaded the Couch to 5k app on my droid. Couch to 5k(http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/index.shtml)is supposed to get you from the couch to running a 5k in 9 weeks. I'll be happy if I can walk 2k in 9 weeks. I am embarrassingly out of shape. I did the first day of couch to 5k today. The way it works in the first week is a 5 minute brisk warm up walk then varying between 90 seconds walking and 60 seconds jogging/running. I managed to jog twice and then I walked the rest of the time. But still, 30 minutes of exercise is better than the nothing I was getting.
I started out today eating 2 eggs scrambled with 1 tablespoon of real bacon bits and 1 slice of Great Value American Cheese. For lunch I had a salad with lettuce (of course), very little cheese, red onion, a boiled egg, and a can of tuna. I put my ranch dressing on the side (I normally drench my salad). I ended up not even using half of my dressing. Yay!!! The rest of the day so far has been spent with the boys. David has a 101 degree fever and Mason has a new tooth coming in on the top. I'll let you know later what I had for dinner because I have no idea yet what I am fixing.
